Market Share and Market Trends

Using the same data set as in the previous posts. I set up a chart showing the market share of each municipality in new construction starts. The market share of starts is intended to show maturity of the individual municipality.

The other side of the chart shows the annual change in construction starts for the month of July. This part of the graph is intended to show the trend of the municipality.

How would one use a chart like this? I think you would like to match up market maturity (risk avoidance) and trend (market projection). In that light, I like what I see for Fultondale, Mountain Brook, Leeds, City of Birmingham, and possibly Vestavia Hills. In contrast Warrior has positive growth, but little market share and Jefferson County has the largest market share, but also the largest deficit in trending.
